Mr. Svend Peter Olsen's Obituary
Svend “Peter”Olsen,75 passed away peacefully March 5, 2026.
Pete was born in Newburgh, New York to the late Svend and Marie Olsen. The family moved from Winter Haven to Gainesville in the late 60s where Pete graduated from Gainesville High School. He immediately worked with his father in the ceramic tile business. Later on he became the general manager of Tile Contractors Supply(currently FD Tile).
Pete is survived by his wife of 37 years Maria, his brothers Erik Olsen(Biba) Kurt Olsen, his sister Inger Stuart (Stefan), his son Forrest Olsen (Carol), his daughter Kristine Wilson, grandchildren Madison, Wyatt, John, Morgan, and Dana Davis, their grandmother.
Pete was a huge Green Bay fan. He enjoyed driving the RV to the beach and racetracks to watch sports car races. He also enjoyed family pool parties.
He will be remembered for his generosity to all, his sense of humor, his quick wit, and an unbelievable memory. We will greatly miss him.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 A. M., at Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville. Interment will follow in Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M., at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to VITAS Hospice, 2614 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville, FL 32606.
