Susana Beatriz Fernandez's Obituary
Susana Beatriz Fernandez, a proud and devoted Porteña, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she lived a life that reflected her independent spirit, elegant fashion, and signature wit that could turn any moment into a humorous one.
Susana was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Del Carmen Aguiar and Cesar Aguiar. She is survived by her sister, Maria Del Carmen D'Attellis, (the late Esteban) and her brother, Mario Aguiar (Graciela). She leaves behind her two loving daughters, Karina Fernandez (Eric) and Jessica Fernandez who will miss her deeply every day of their lives, cherishing the memories of their time and adventures together.
Susana took great pride in her home. With a keen eye for design, she transformed her house into a warm and inviting home, filled with beautiful decor and loving touches. The outdoor spaces were her peaceful retreat, where she spent hours nurturing her plants and flowers, and watching the backyard birds and squirrel antics. She loved wearing big sunglasses and fashionable clothes, always staying stylish and vibrant. She also had a sweet tooth for chocolate, a fondness for sipping Coca Colas, and a weakness for ice cream - often savoring these small delights with her two daughters.
One of her prized possessions was her trusty Ford Expedition truck, which she affectionately outfitted with a bold bull bar on the front. She took great pride in her vehicle, and it was a reflection of her adventurous spirit and independence.
Susana cherished the memories of her past adventures, often looking back fondly on the countless trips she took with her daughters. Together, they explored the world, creating lifelong memories and strengthening their bond. Europe was her favorite destination, where she marveled at the rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultures. But her favorite part of those trips was always the food! She loved sampling local cuisine, from pasta in Italy to tapas in Spain, and everything in between.
Susana also delighted in discovering unique souvenirs and mementos during her travels, sometimes to the chagrin of her family! She would often spend hours browsing gift shops, searching for the perfect treasures to bring back home.
In her later years, Susana became an avid online shopper, with Amazon being her go-to destination. Her family would often joke that the Amazon delivery driver should be invited to holiday dinners.
A lifelong fan of Argentinian national team fútbol, Susana spent countless hours cheering for her beloved team and the legendary Lionel Messi. Shouting and crying with the joys and disappointments of the game with her family.
The world is a sadder place for her family whose pain will never be healed. We will miss you always.
