Susan Ann "Sue" Dougheny Voorneveld's Obituary
Susan Ann “Sue” Dougheny Voorneveld, age 55 of Gainesville, Florida passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. She was born June 24, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio to Joseph and Sandra Clay Dougheny.
Sue grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Buchholz High School,class of 1978. She graduated from Santa Fe Community College in 1997. Following graduation Sue went on to work for Dr. William Newsome, Fed Ex and most recently Queen of Peace Catholic Church as financial secretary. Sue enjoyed taking her dog Sadie to Dogwood Park. She was an avid photographer, reader and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandy Clay Dougheny.
She is survived by her husband John Voorneveld; her miracle daughter, Kathryn Marie “Katie” Voorneveld; father, Joseph Dougheny; brother, Pat (Debbie) Dougheny; brothers-in-law, Skip (Paula) and Chip Voorneveld and loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Avenue, with Fr. Kazimierz Ligeza as celebrant. A reception will follow at Queen of Peace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Catholic High School for a scholarship for Katie's education, 4100 NW 115th Terrace, Gainesville, FL 32606.
