Susan Amar's Obituary
Susan Amar, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
Susan was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt & friend. Susan is survived by her husband of 59 years, Albert Amar; her four children, Eva Amar, Ruth Amar, Jackie (Rob) Blanchard, and Bob (Shana) Amar; her grandchildren, Margaux Janda, Jacob Amar, & Evan Amar; Sister & Brother-in-law, Shirley & Eugene Deutsch, and countless nieces and nephews.
Susan was born in Gary, IN and graduated from Horace Mann High School. She married her husband Albert in 1957, and started a family of her own shortly thereafter. She & Albert resided in NW Indiana until her retirement in 2001. After a successful career as a Real Estate Broker, Susan & Albert relocated to Gainesville, FL to be closer to their children.
Susan enjoyed playing mah-jongg & scrabble, music, reading & above all, spending time with her family. Susan was a warm & loving woman, with a great sense of humor, who went out of her way to help those around her.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 11:00 A. M., at Congregation B’nai Israel, 3830 NW 16th Blvd., Gainesville, with Rabbi David Kaiman, officiating. Interment will follow in B’nai Israel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
