Sunie "Sue" Stewart's Obituary
Sunie “Sue” Nell Dawson Stewart, 100, of Gainesville passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at her home. She was born April 27, 1917 in Watkinsville, Georgia to Royal Clifford and Hassie Daniel Dawson. Mrs. Stewart worked at Belks for 29 years. She attended the Jabez Class at Westside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Stewart Parrish and husband, Jim of Gainesville; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Stewart; five brothers, Ralph, Roy, Raymond, Rayford, and Ruhl Dawson, and four sisters, Sara Sue Norris, Selena Kate Dickens, Rebecca Barnette, and Roberta Dellinger.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Stewart will be laid to rest next to her husband in Union Christian Church Cemetery in Watkinsville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to the Westside Baptist Church Jabez Class Single Parent Ministry, 10000 W Newberry Rd, Gainesville, FL 32606.
