Sue Dobbins Duckworth's Obituary
Sue Dobbins Duckworth, 84, of Gainesville, FL passed away July 2, 2023, surrounded by her family at Shands Hospital. Sue was born in Daviston, AL on November 14, 1938, to Byron and Elizabeth McDaniel Dobbins. She resided in Ashburn, GA for a while and then moved to Gainesville with her family in 1958. Sue was a devout woman of faith. She was a lifelong charter member, (since 1958) of the Gainesville Eastside Church of God of Prophecy where she also served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. All who knew and loved her will miss her presence in their lives.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Starling Wallace Duckworth, and by a son, Steve Glenn Duckworth.
Sue is survived by two daughters, Faye Brown and Bonnie (Larry) Green, two sons, Billy (Patti) Duckworth and Jerry Duckworth, grandchildren, Bethany (Luke) Glover, Jeremy (Whitney) Green, Shelby Duckworth, and Noah Hurdsman, and 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 11:00AM at Memorial Park East with Pastor Joe Martinez and Bishop J.V. Sullivan officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in her name to the Church of God of Prophecy, 4700 SE Hawthorne Rd, Gainesville, FL., 32641.
