Dr Steve Shire was a past President of the FL JCI Senate and fellow JCI Senator. he will be missed by many including the ones pets he cared for near his home in Alachua. Our deepest condolences to him and his family.
I was just talking/thinking about Dr. Shores recently and was saddened to hear of this. I met Dr. Shores through our dental practice and he quickly became one of my favorite patients. Dr. Shores was a unique individual. He was articulate, intelligent, warm and caring. But the thing I remember most, Dr. Shores was never arrogant. Usually when you meet someone with such a wealth of knowledge and experience as him, they appear aloof and standoffish. Not Dr. Shores. We use to discuss everything from gatorade (I had to explain to him, and give him solid proof, gatorade does cause tooth decay....) to blue bell ice cream...(his favorite). Dr. Shores just had a way with people, and their pets. You always felt important and he always took the time to explain things. He was truely given a gift, the ability to touch other lives by his genuine caring and concern for their 'fur babies'.
He loved his family, his practice and his patients. He will be missed.
Thank you Dr. Shores, for everything.
I will forever be grateful for the care, concern & respect you always gave my pets & to me. I remember the open house for your brand new, beautiful practice. You treated everyone like family & were even directing traffic. I said that tall one in the dog costume must be about to faint & you said no Ma'am, that is my Grandson & he will be just fine. You may be the last of your kind on this earth. Peace be with you & yours.
Remembering Docs many kindnesses and generosity! One special memory at the lake with fireworks, fun, and Doc captaining the ole pontoon boat! Our love and prayers to Pat and the family...keeping you in our hearts! Nick, Jan, & Mark Colandreo
