Steve and I were great friends. We met at Virginia Tech in the Corp of Cadets. He was a year younger and was a "rat" under me in "S" squadron. He was the best cadet that I remember and it was impossible to find fault with him. I learned that like me, he was from Pittsburgh which strengthened our bond. We would ride back to Pittsburgh for weekend visits listening to the Four Tops on my 8-track player in my car. We stayed in touch for a while and would see each other at trade shows in Florida on business. When my wife, Barb, passed away from breast cancer, he came to Orlando to visit with me and gave me great comfort in this tough time. I will never forget this and it was typical of Steve. I got to visit with him for a few hours in March and my curent wife, Karen and I were planning on meeting him and his wonderful wife, Trish at the end of April. I wish that had happened. I know he is in a better place now and free of his pain. He is one of the finest people I have had jn my life and I was truly blessed to have known him. Please remember his ,wife and family in your prayers. "Rusty" Nelson
