Stephen William Pavlik's Obituary
Stephen William Pavlik, 70, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at UF Health, surrounded by family and close friends.
Steve was born on February 12, 1948, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, to the late Steve F. and Anna Pavlik. He received his Masters Degree from Virginia Tech in Accounting, and soon after joined the U. S. Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant. While stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, he met his future wife, Trish. Steve began his professional career as a CPA, working for a firm in Tampa, before moving to Gainesville in 1978. There, he began a long career with a large engineering/construction firm, retiring after 25 years as the CEO in 2005. Following his retirement, he stayed active in the construction field as a consultant with clients up and down the east coast. He was a dedicated volunteer with the American Heart Association, with Shands Hospital, and served on the board of AVMED. Steve was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Pavlik; two daughters, Kim (Patrick) Clark, of Oveido and Lindsey (Duane) Ammons, of Gainesville; a son, Jason (Rachel) Pavlik, of Gainesville; one brother Robert (Claudine) Pavlik, of Richmond, VA; two nephews, Brian and Jonathan Pavlik; six grandchildren, Jack Pavlik, Katelyn, Benjamin and Emerson Clark and Cole and Jordan Ammons.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 6:30 P. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St. Private family services will be held the following day. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the charity of your choice.
