Simon David "S.D." Bristowe's Obituary
Simon David “S.D.” Bristowe, age 91 of Gainesville, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was born October 8, 1923 in Hawthorne, Florida to the late Samuel D. and Roxie Whitehead Bristowe. Mr. Bristowe proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was in the dry cleaning business in Gainesville for over 40 years. Mr. Bristowe was a longtime faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Webb Bristowe in 2007.
He is survived by his children, David (Christine) Bristowe of Jacksonville, FL and Gerri (John) Russell of St. Augustine, FL; sister, Ruby Lee Cain of Gainesville; five grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., in Memorial Park East, with Pastor Harry Holloman officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Wesley United Methodist Church, 826 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609.
