Sidney Hazen's Obituary
Sidney Hazen passed away in LaCrosse, Florida on February 24, 2023 at the age of 74, after a long illness. He was born on February 20, 1949, in Gainesville, Florida.
After serving three years in the U. S. Army, with one year in Vietnam, he then retired from Gainesville Fire Rescue as a Lieutenant/EMT after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, Pine Hill Lodge #9; a charter member of the Gainesville Professional Firefighters IAFF Local #2157 and a member of the Brooker Baptist Church.
He is predeceased by his father, Aubrey Hazen and his mother, Lucille Hazen. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Hazen; his daughter, Nikki Hazen, granddaughter, Teigan Hazen and a brother, Neal Hazen.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Lung Association.
