Sibyl Louise Allen's Obituary
Sibyl Louise Allen, age 87 of Gainesville, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at her home. She was born June 11, 1927 in Columbia, South Carolina to Thomas and Sally Wheeler Lloyd. Sibyl retired as head cashier from North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was a very active member of Gainesville Women’s Club, Newcomers and Red Hat Society. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. “Bill” Allen and sister, Myrtle Hudson. She is survived by her son, John (Lisa) Allen of Greensboro, NC and grandchildren, John William and Jennifer Leigh Allen.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Dr. Don McGarity officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Heritage Room at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, FL 32606.
