Shelby Butcher's Obituary
Shelby Butcher passed away on December 11, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on July 27, 1936, in Ranger, Texas to Frederick Arthur and Mary Frances Pate Butcher.
Starting out as a young auto mechanic, Shelby built his career from the ground up, eventually founding a thriving business. Grateful for the opportunities he had, he dedicated himself to mentoring countless young technicians, helping them launch their own successful careers. Shelby’s life was a testament to his love and devotion for his family, creating a joyful and nurturing home.
Shelby is preceded by his wife of 61 years, Neva Grubbs Butcher. He is survived by his three children, Cindy Castlen, Lisa Blair, and Travis Butcher, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren with one on the way.
Celebration of life for Shelby will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Williams-Thomas Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St. Newberry, FL 32669, with Pastor Tom Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Countryside Cemetery, 10926 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606.
