Shawn Matthew Pettigrew's Obituary
Shawn Matthew Pettigrew from Gainesville, Florida, beloved son of Diana Mann Pettigrew and John Thomas Pettigrew, is safe in the arms of God having peacefully passed away on January 1, 2024.
He was born on February 23, 1973, in Lake City, Florida. He spent his childhood in Trenton, High Springs, and Gainesville with his family. He was self employed and always displayed unique creativity in his chosen field of kitchen and bathroom renovation and tile installation. He served in the U.S. Army. Throughout his life he received several humanitarian service awards for his dedication and giving spirit.
Shawn enjoyed fishing, cooking, and was an avid football fan who especially enjoyed cheering for the Miami Dolphins. He loved spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed studying the Bible and doing online Bible studies. Most of all, he loved his family devotedly and often talked about his fun, adventurous childhood and the many memories he shared with his sister and brother.
Shawn is survived by his mother, Diana Mann Pettigrew (J.J. Martin), father John Thomas Pettigrew (B.J. Pettigrew), sister Shannon Pettigrew Raulerson (Joey Raulerson), brother Dale Thomas Pettigrew, nephew Anthony Raulerson, niece Kaylee Brooke Raulerson (Ricardo Nieves), nephew Jasper Nieves, best friend Victor Pisarri, and many caring, loving friends.
A memorial service for Shawn will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., in the chapel at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home West, at 823 N.W. 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida, 32669.
