Sharon Maureen Rudd Walters' Obituary
Sharon Maureen Walters, age 73, of Gainesville, Florida passed away February 25, 2024. Born in Schenectady, New York on May 3rd, 1950, to Daniel Albert Rudd and Barbara Dolores Rudd Croft. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Kenneth Eugene Walters, her mother Barbara Croft, her daughter Annette Walters Bishop, her husband Gaelan Bishop, and her grandchildren Rachel and Landon Bishop. She is also survived by her sister Bobbie Beard and her husband Hugh Beard, her sister Danice Milnes and her husband Richard Milnes, and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father Daniel Rudd, her brother Franklin Rudd, her stepfather Wilson Croft, and her son Keith Edward Walters.
Sharon graduated in 1968, from Hialeah High School in Hialeah, Florida. She was enrolled at Miami-Dade Community College, when she met her husband and began her family.
She has been a Gainesville resident for over 40 years. Sharon is a founding member of Grace United Methodist Church. A proud member of the Women of Purpose life group. Sharon had a great love for kids, and helped raise 24 children through home daycare, lovingly remembered as their “maw-maw”. She was so blessed to be involved with her international bible study. She loved being their American grandmother.
She touched the hearts of all she met.
She was very devoted to Jesus, constantly reading her devotionals. She was the best wife, mother, and Gram anyone could want. Sharon left her footprints on our hearts, and she will never be forgotten. We love you!
A celebration of Sharon's Life will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace at Fort Clarke 9325 W. Newberry Rd. Gainesville, FL. The family will be receiving guests from 1:00 pm to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
