Seema Weinkrantz Kramer's Obituary
Seema Weinkrantz Kramer of Gainesville, FL died January 29, 2023, in Gainesville. Seema was born in Baltimore, MD on June 1, 1944, to Bernard and Bertha Diskin Weinkrantz. At the age of 3 mo., she moved to Hollywood, FL with her parents. In 1962 Seema graduated from South Broward High School, then attended Mt. Sinai School of Radiology from 1962-64. She worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL from 1965-2009 with a brief sabbatical from 1968-74 to start a family. While working as a radiologist, Seema trained at Broward Community College to become a reserve police officer for the city of North Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she served from 1981-1998. She retired from Jackson Memorial in 2009 then moved to Gainesville, FL. She continued to volunteer at NFRMC, being the first volunteer to earn the “FRIST” award. Besides being very active in her community, She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Bernard (Edith) Kramer and Jordona (Robert) Kramer Forsythe, and five grandchildren, Thalia Liptak, Sebastian Kramer, Sage Kramer, and Brett and Ava Forsythe.
A private, family graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcomed to https://glioblastomafoundation.org.
