Sarath Kurakula's Obituary
On December 7th, 2018 Sarath Kurakula passed away having enjoyed far too few birthday cakes. Chocolate on chocolate was his favorite. His family hopes that whoever the cook is where Sarath is at, knows that.
Sarath was born August 19, 1987 and like any younger child attached to his mom, he did not want to leave. He held on for as long as he could, before he finally decided he wanted to meet his Mom, Dad, and Brother.
After spending a number of years eating as much candy and popcorn as possible, he graduated Eastside High School class of 2006. He went on to earn his associate’s degree from Santa Fe College in Theatre.
In 2014 he joined the US Navy and did a tour all around the Pacific. He said what he missed most from home was his mom's home-made brownies.
He was enrolled in Penn State University studying accounting, which he hoped would one day fund his screenwriting ambitions.
His father passed away in 2016, and he is survived by his mother, Shobha Kurakula and his brother, Saie Kurakula.
A Celebration of Sarath’s Life will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N Main Street, with a reception to follow.
