Saraswathy Prabhakaran's Obituary
Saraswathy Prabhakaran was born in Kerala, India to the Late Sri Balakrishna Pillai and Late Smt. Bhargavi Amma. She immigrated to the United States following her marriage to Prabhakaran Nair and settled in Staten Island, NY. Following a, rewarding 40 year career in nursing, she retired in 2008. She is a proud member of multiple Indian organizations including the Nair Benevolent Association in addition to be a founding member the Kerala Samajam of Staten Island. She was always known for her warmth, generosity and altruism. She is a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and wonderful friend. She left for her heavenly abode on August 25, 2024 in Gainesville, FL surrounded by family.
She is survived by her sons, Vijay and Sanjaya, daughter, Sapna, daughter in laws, Sreekala and Rajitha, son in law, Raj as well as grandchildren, Gayathry, Aparna and Zane.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville.
