Sara Frances McAlister's Obituary
Sara Frances McAlister, 88, of Ocala, Florida, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 7, 2015.
Mrs. McAlister was born on May 30, 1927 in Etowah, Tennessee to the late Amos and Ann Lou Carson. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, and a pianist at her church, Heritage Baptist Church, in Ocala. She was preceded in death by her Husband William C. McAlister, in 2010.
She is survived by a son, William B. McAlister; a daughter, Robin Mason; four grandchildren, Melissa Toole, Sara McAlister, Amy (Mason) Hill and her only grandson, Robert “Robbie” Mason; five great grandchildren, Dylan and Abigail Toole, and Breanna, Landon and Sophia McAlister. In addition, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Lorraine Carson and a niece, Penny Oliver, both of Tampa.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:30 A. M., at the Memorial Baptist Church, 3693 SE 95th Street, Ocala, with Pastor Michael West, officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior, beginning at 10:30 A. M., at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34474.
