Sandra "Sandy" Marlene Garrett's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Marlene Garrett of Gainesville, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
Sandy was born on October 1, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida to Gerald M. and Lennie Hemphill Kelly. She graduated high school from Jean Ribault High School in 1968 and went to cosmetology school immediately after graduation, to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a beautician.
Sandy moved to Gainesville, where she met and married her husband of 41 years,
Lowell Garrett. They each brought two children from previous marriages—Cecilia and Robert Garrett, and Donald and Duane Beall. Sandy was a loving mother who made no distinction between Lowell’s children and her own.
She enjoyed a successful career as owner and operator of Alluring Profiles for 26 years, where her loving and caring personality made the shop a gathering place of longtime treasured friends.
A consummate hostess, when Sandy wasn’t working, she loved cooking and entertaining for family and friends, whom she cherished time with. Some of her other passions were going shopping and taking cruises.
Always the beauty queen, she was pristine and fashionable. She was enduring, generous, fun-loving, and kind. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Lowell, her children Donald Beall (Tonya), Duane Beall (Ashley) and Cecilia Garrett, her sisters Denice Freeman (Jeff), Debbie McCartney (Bob), her grandchildren Taylor Beall, Kayleigh Garrett, Tommy Garrett, Ella Beall, Faith Beall, and great-grandson Kaylor Beall.
Sandy was preceded in death by son, Robert Garrett and grandson, Robert Beall.
Services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home, 404 North Main St., Gainesville, FL 32601. Family will receive friends for the viewing beginning at 12 pm, with a celebration of life at 1 pm. Burial will follow the service at Forest Meadows Central, 4100 NW 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL 32606.
