Sandra S. Hanna's Obituary
Ms. Sandra S. Hanna, age 66, born January 13, 1951 in Marlborough, Massachusetts passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 following a long illness.
She is survived by her son, Reggie Hanna of Hawthorne, FL; her daughter, Stacie Hanna of Gainesville, FL; her ex-husband, Danny Hanna of Gainesville, FL, and two loving grand-dogs, Bear and Milo. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl “Bud” Swanson and Betty H. Swanson.
Sandy graduated from Milford High School in 1969. Following her equestrian passion, she moved to Hawthorne, FL with her parents to open Skyridge Meadow Farms. She went on to attend Santa Fe Community College and later received her degree from The University of Florida’s School of Agriculture.
Following her academic career she got married, had two children whom she loved with all her heart. She dedicated herself to being an All-Star mother by never missing a sports game, band concert, or any activity that involved her kids.
After retiring from North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center in 2014 as an Administrative Assistant, her hobbies included watching her favorite shows, like Jeopardy, playing with her grand dogs, sitting on the porch reading novels, and rooting for the Gators and the Patriots. She enjoyed playing card and board games, cooking a good meal, and she always had a cliché for every occasion.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N Main St. Burial will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, October 9, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90 Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
