Ryan Christopher Wendler's Obituary
Ryan Christopher Wendler, 20, of Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in Fort Myers. He was born February 7, 1996 in Tucson, Arizona. Ryan was attending Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida while also working at Moe’s Southwest Grill. He played Lacrosse at both Lyman Hall and Buchholz High School. He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 614 in Gainesville and Troop 47 in Wallingford, Connecticut. He also played in the Lyman Hall Marching Band.
He is survived by his parents, Chris and Carol Wendler of Gainesville; brothers, Sam and Max; maternal grandparents, Joan and Don Alton of Iowa City, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Christine and Charles of Iowa City, Iowa; aunts and uncles, Jay and Darin Geise, Drew and Julie Alton, Sharon and Jen Alton, Michelle and Jeff Barlow, and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Sheri Thomas.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ryan on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street.
