Ruth M. Lindsey's Obituary
Ruth M. Lindsey, age 89 of Gainesville passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022. She was born November 19, 1933 to Wellington Thomas and Mable McLean Gales.
She was born and raised in Robeson County, North Carolina where she met and married her husband, Lacy Lindsey. They moved from North Carolina to Gainesville in 1966, she was a stay at home mother and raised her children, helped raise two nieces, a nephew and grandkids.
Ruth loved music, when she was younger she played the piano. Ruth went blind in her early 40’s and was very excited to get to go to school to learn to read braille, she also helped others read braille.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn, Karen and Donna; son, Lacy; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Lindsey; and daughters, Diane, Mary and Linda.
