Ruth H. Gill's Obituary
Ruth H. Gill, 90, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024. Born on September 23, 1933, in Live Oak, Florida, Ruth was the beloved daughter of Marvin and Jewel Howard.
Ruth made Gainesville her home in 1958, where she built a fulfilling career with Jack Williams Company and Tower Hill Insurance Company. Beyond her professional life, Ruth was known for her love of cooking, shopping, reading, sewing, and fishing. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and creating cherished memories.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bobby Leethan Gill, as well as her siblings Marvin “Junior” Howard, Betty Jean Gill, Marty Howard, Beverly Parker, and William “Bill” Howard.
Ruth is lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra Moorhouse (John) of Alachua, Florida, and Patrick Gill of Orlando, Florida; her grandson, Evan Moorhouse of West Palm Beach; her brothers, James Howard (Joyce) and Larry Howard (Carol Ann) of Anthony, Florida; and her sisters, Louise Blanton of Gainesville, Florida, and Marlene Reuscher of Ocala, Florida and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to honor Ruth’s life will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea, located at 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida, 32669.
