Ruby Allean Blackwell's Obituary
Ruby Allean Blackwell, age 87 of Gainesville, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center. She was born April 18, 1927 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Andrew and Bessie Hulion. Ruby enjoyed fishing, cooking, canning and traveling. She loved the Lord and spending time with her family. She was a member of The Church at Orange Heights.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Willis “Trig” Blackwell in 2011. She is survived by three sons, Andrew (Dorothy), Charles (Bonnie) and Larry (Judy); two daughters, Dianne McSween and Theresa Stewart and 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., in The Church at Orange Heights with Pastor Lonnie Broome officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Windsor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to The Church at Orange Heights Building Fund, 16700 NE SR 26, Hawthorne, FL 32640.
