Roy Cline's Obituary
Roy M. Cline, age 87 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021. He was born June 28, 1934 to Theodore Roosevelt and Clemen Garanton Cline.
Roy was born in Trinidad and grew up in Maturin, Venezuela. He graduated from Texas A & M and later attended Thunderbird School of Global Management before joining Corning Glassworks where he worked for 31 years. Roy and his family lived in many places in South America and the United States. They moved to Gainesville in June of 1996. Roy was an active spokesperson for Prostate Cancer.
He was a member of the Orchid Society and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice; children, Allyson Cline Anderson and her husband, Emmett, Frank Cline and his wife Anali Cabrera Cline; five grandchildren, Mary Alice Anderson and her husband Kyle Wallace, Carolyn Williams and her husband Matt Williams, Chip Anderson, Nicolas Cline, Andres Cline; and a great grandson on the way.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Cline.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Avenue, Gainesville with Fr. Alberto Esposito as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roy’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/ .
