Roy Gilbert Callahan's Obituary
Roy Gilbert Callahan, 73, of Gainesville passed away December 10, 2015. He was born July 3, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Richard William and Ruth Smith Callahan. A Vietnam War Veteran, Roy proudly served his country as a hospital Corpsman First Class in the US Navy. He later worked for the Public Defender’s Office as an investigator in Alachua County. His true passion in life was his love for his country and family.
Roy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lou Ann Callahan, daughter, Daria R. Broom, and grandson, Kyle M. Broom.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Alachua County local animal charity of your choice.
