Rosa Lee Guilfoyle's Obituary
Rosa Lee Guilfoyle— A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully Friday, July 17th, 2020 in Gainesville, Florida. Rosa passed away at her home with her family present after a long journey through the stages of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Rosa was born in Gainesville, Florida on August 9th, 1940. Rosa lived most of her life in Gainesville, but made sure to travel as much as possible with her family. Rosa enjoyed going on Cruises, Disney World, and Camping all over Florida.
Rosa was known affectionately to her family as Ann. The name was given to her by her uncle, Chubby Keene. Rosa was very close to her uncle and is now able to see him again.
Rosa enjoyed cruising to many different locations and was always ready for another cruise. Some of Rosa’s favorite things to do while cruising was to watch the wonderful shows, shop the beautiful items available from around the different areas and she loved to try the delicious variety of foods available on the cruises. If Rosa was not cruising with her family, she was enjoying a Glamping trip to the many places they would travel. Rosa enjoyed Glamping as it did not involve tents and air mattresses. Glamping involved a 40ft RV with 2 air conditioners and all the amenities of home.
Family was Rosa’s number one love and she will be remembered by everyone for all of the wonderful moments she has given us to cherish.
Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Guilfoyle, her mother, Mary E. Black (Keene), her father, Richard Duncan Black, and her favorite uncle, Chubby Keene.
Rosa will be affectionately loved, remembered, and missed by her sons: Winburn, Donald, and Richard Guilfoyle, her daughters-in-law: Robbin and Kellie Guilfoyle, her grandchildren: Brian, Jenna, Sarah and Alex Guilfoyle, her great grandchildren: Maci and Rori Guilfoyle and her many friends and relatives.
Rosa touched more lives and hearts than we are able to mention. Rosa would help anyone in need and would be at your side in a moment notice. If you asked her to come, she would not ask any questions. She would be with you helping you no matter what you needed. Knowing Rosa has been a true blessing and we thank God for all the memories we have. She will be missed by all who knew her.
As our tears fall like rain, we are reminded He will wipe all our tears away. Rosa has come into His peace and love. And as time moves on leaving memories of joy and happiness, which will be cherished and remembered joyously. We anxiously await the time we will meet again at Heavens gate.
A public viewing will be held at Williams-Thomas Funeral Homes in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 from 5p to 7p.
The following day will be Rosa’s Burial at Jonesville Cemetery in Newberry, Florida.
Revelations 21:4
