Ronald Douglas "Doug" Fowler's Obituary
Ronald Douglas “Doug” Fowler of Gainesville, FL passed away on May 19, 2022, at the age of 70. Doug was born May 4, 1952, in Gainesville, FL to Park and Gloria Hodge Fowler. He graduated Gainesville High School in 1970. Doug worked his entire life as an outside salesman of building materials. He worked with Contractors Supply for 35 years.
Doug was blessed with a large and loving family. He met the love of his life, Donna in high school. They were married and their romance lasted for 52 years. They were blessed with two wonderful girls and three granddaughters. He lived vicariously through his girls by taking them hunting, scalloping at Steinhatchee, and teaching them to fish. They brought him so much joy and happiness. Doug loved the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many wonderful days at his cabin in Georgia, and enjoyed annual trips to Montana and Chokoloskee, FL. Doug never met a stranger and was always the first one to help those in need.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Donnie Fowler.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; his daughters Kimberly (Glenn) Harrell, and Kristi Crouch; and his granddaughters Ashley (Garhett) Wilson, Chesney Crouch, and Callie Crouch, and brother Darrell (Cheryl) Fowler. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 2:00PM at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel 823 NW 143rd St. with Pastor Andy Cook officiating.
