Ronald Willis Ferger's Obituary
Ronald Willis Ferger, 85, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Carl and Ethel Ferger.
Ron served in the Navy four years before marrying his high-school sweetheart, Rebecca Ferger. After he graduated college, one of the highlights of his career was his position as an electronic engineer at NASA’s Goddard Space Center during the Apollo space missions.
Ron and Becky had three children - Brian, Chris, and Tracey “the favorite.” He faithfully cared for his wife, Becky, during their 22 years of marriage before she preceded him in death in 1984 after her long illness. The Lord graciously brought another amazing lady into his life, JoAnn Ferger, with whom he was married 38 years before she preceded him in death in 2023. Ron’s second marriage brought three daughters - Katrina, Susanne, and DeAnn - which gave them their blended family of six children.
Ron’s faith in his Heavenly Father and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in the life he lived out in front of his family and anyone who knew him. He was a loving and beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Survivors include his sister Jeanne (Gene) Eaton; his children Brian (Jayme) Ferger, Chris (Teisha) Ferger, and Tracey (Al) Cori, Katrina (Frank) Larkin, Susanne (Larry) Katz, and DeAnn (Michael) Thompson; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
