Ronald L. Anderson's Obituary
Ronald L. Anderson, 82, of Alachua, Florida, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Ron was born in 1934 in Marianna, Pennsylvania to Roy and Ada Anderson. He attended Carnegie Tech before leaving to join the US Army, where he happily served for three years, mostly in Germany. He then relocated with his family to St. Cloud, Florida, where he met his wife, Frances “Patty” Anderson. After getting married, they settled in the Gainesville/Alachua area where Ron took up his lifelong career in car sales.
Ron was known for his gift of gab, he loved to talk to people. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, square dancing, playing cards with friends, and tinkering with cars. Ron was a very upbeat and positive person, and loved to pull out his harmonica and play you a song.
Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patty Anderson; his brother Calvin Anderson of Kissimmee FL; his children Roy, Susan and James Anderson; eight grandchildren, Christina, John, Ben, Casey, Jordan, Tyler, Trey and Sienna; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 A. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St., with a reception to follow.
