Roberta Josephine King's Obituary
Roberta Josephine King, affectionately known as "Grammy", age 78 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2025. She was born on December 26, 1946, in Connersville, Indiana to Robert and Patricia Wetzel Hollingsworth.
She grew up in Connersville and married her high school sweetheart, James E. King on July 8, 1967. They started their family after James returned home from Vietnam. She and James had three children and in 1977 the family moved to Florida.
Roberta was a Christian. She was most proud of being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Melissa J. King, Chad King, Brent E. King and wife Blaine; twin sisters, Rosie and Susie and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. King.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Williams-Thomas Downtown Chapel, 404 North Main St. with Pastor Ron Hyatt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service beginning at 9:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Florida National Cemetery.
