Robert Benjamin Whittle's Obituary
Robert Benjamin “Ben” Whittle passed away September 26, 2024, at his home in Newberry, Florida.
Ben was born on January 19, 1950, to Robert Thompson Whittle and Pauline Herndon in Brunswick, Georgia. In his younger years he was a disc jockey in Brunswick paying his way through college. He graduated from the University of Georgia.
Ben proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring as Major. While in the Air Force he met the love of his life Adelina Munoz who was also serving. Ben and Adelina loved to travel. Ben never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends. In 2004 they moved to Gainesville, Florida.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Adelina, his brother Steve Whittle, many friends and family, and his loving cat Brianna.
Services for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida. The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with full military honors.
