Such a kind man. He was always happy, positive, and smiling. My 2 sons were so fortunate to live down the street from Mister Mac. He would come over often, always eager to show them a new life skill, or just a warm handshake and pat on the shoulder. We will never forget, and always remember with love, Mr. Mac
Mr. Bob was my buddy! He made my every Tuesday and Thursday special just by showing up and I miss him dearly. He was fun loving and quite the jokester which kept me on my toes. I can honestly say he is one of my best friends 💕
I have too many memories to share, just about touching every item in Mr. McAlpine‘s life mentioned in his beautiful obituary. I remember the time when I asked him if he could build a couple cabinets for the residents of Saint Francis House. This was 40 years ago and the house had only two bedrooms, one for men, one for women, each sleeping four. A little time went by and he called to tell me they were ready, and how about us taking them over. I got to his house and there in his garage/wood shop stood two six-ft tall cabinets, freshly painted a gleaming white, each with four cubbies with doors on brand new hinges, shiny new handles, and hasps for securing with a padlock. The design, workmanship, and all the money he’d spent overwhelmed me. After I thanked him profusely, he just shrugged it off, in his gentle way, and said “It’s good they’ll have someplace safe to keep their things.”
