Robert Ray Logan's Obituary
Robert Ray Logan, went to be with his Lord and savior, November 7, 2017 – Robert was born in Tampa, Florida on October 21, 1923 to Lula Ray Logan and Claude D. Logan. He attended Plant High School and the University of Florida and served in the U.S. Army in both World War II and the Korean War. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tampa where he was a deacon for many years and served as the first President of the Tampa Baptist Manor. He was a general contractor with his brother, Claude D. Logan Jr., in Tampa for many years and was also a real estate appraiser. He was an avid tennis player and traveled extensively into his late 80’s. He will always be remembered for his kindness, great sense of humor and love of his family.
Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha Sue Skinner Logan, son Brightman Skinner Logan (Nannette), two grandchildren Brightman S. Logan Jr (Kara) and Martha Jean Logan, two great grandchildren Claire and Kate Logan, nephews Kenneth E. Lane (CeCe) and C. Logan Lane (Marsha), Claude D. Logan III (Robin), Ray Logan (Mindy) and niece Lelia Clewis (Frank). Brother-in-law Buddy Skinner (Mary Ann) and nephews Jamie Skinner, John Skinner and Davis Skinner as well as many other family members in the Tampa area.
A memorial service will be held in the Tampa area at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
