Robert Jesse Halbrook's Obituary
Robert Jesse Halbrook, age 74 passed away at his home in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was born on March 2, 1944 in LaGrange, Georgia to Jesse and Clara Halbrook. He has two sisters, Gale Cline and Susan Kindler. Robert married Rebecca Shaw on September 6, 1973 and had two children, Jessica “Robin” Mansour and Robert Brian Halbrook. He also has one granddaughter, Cassidy Halbrook.
Robert was a graduate of Gainesville High School. He served in the US Army as a Vet Tech and Scout Dog handler. He worked for the Department of Transportation until he retired. Robert’s interests included hunting and fishing. He loved to take care of his beloved Boston Terrier, Gracie and his African Grey Bird, Ricky.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N Main Street, Gainesville, with Pastor Steve Matchett officiating, with a reception to follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
