Robert F. Foshay's Obituary
Robert F. Foshay, 90, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 18, 1934. He graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School of Carpentry and excelled in basketball and baseball during high school. He worked as a master craftsman for 47 years.
An avid golfer, Robert also enjoyed the beach, traveling to see family, and cheering for his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He was often seen riding around Haile Plantation in his red golf cart with his beloved dog, Bailey.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Irene; his children, William Foshay (Janis), Debbie Geambazi (Robert), and Terri Fuller (Ron); his grandchildren, William, Michael, and Thomas Foshay; his step-grandchildren, Nick Geambazi and Christina Darin; his great-grandchildren, Bella, Ryan, and Logan Foshay; and his step-great-grandchildren, Maddie Geambazi, Isla, and Stella Darin. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George, and Mary Foshay.
Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, he will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Cemetery, 10926 NW 39th Ave Gainesville, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alachua County Humane Society at www.humanesocietyncfl.org.
