Robert "Bobby" Charles Empson's Obituary
Empson, “Bobby” Robert Charles, age 68 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the VA Hospital. Bobby was born in Seoul, S. Korea on January 23, 1955, to Charles Frederick Empson and Son Ja Unterseher.
He was raised & went to school in Hastings, Nebraska, where he began his career riding rodeo. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and graduated from TCU.
Bobby moved to Florida in 1998 and was a Project Manager/Superintendent in Construction for most of his career.
He loved riding his Harley, playing golf, and everything water, boat & outdoors related. He was a foodie who enjoyed trying new places to eat. He absolutely LOVED sports, especially his Corn Huskers and Horned Frogs.
Most of all, he loved his family who live all over the country. Bobby is survived by the love of his life, Karen Coley-Cannon, his mother, children: Brooke and Madison Harris, and Kylee Cannon, sister Marie Dieter, half-sisters Sarah Empson and Catherine "Cat" Empson, and nephew David Dieter. And his beloved dogs, Poco and Scout.
Bobby was preceded by his father and stepfather, Milton Unterseher.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 11:00 am at the WILLIAMS-THOMAS WESTAREA CHAPEL at 823 N.W. 143rd St. in Newberry.
