Robert "Bobby" Allen Funkhouser's Obituary
Robert “Bobby” Allen Funkhouser, 75 of Alachua, Florida passed away on July 8, 2023, at Willowbrook Assisted Living in Lake City, Florida.
He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on July 8 1948.
Bobby graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1967, and graduated Jones Business college in Jacksonville, Florida. He worked for Merit Loan Company as a loan officer, and W.W. Gay and Funkhouser’s Tire.
Bobby is survived by his brother, Dennis R. Funkhouser; step-daughter, Pammie McGrail, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrna and Ross Funkhouser, and siblings, Floyd ”Sunny” Funkhouser, Betty Gentry and Eugene Funkhouser,
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, FL.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel with Pastor Tim Spivey as officiant. Burial will follow in Newnansville Cemetery, 12308 W. State Road 235, Alachua, Florida. For those who wish, memorials can be made in Bobby’s memory to Vitas Hospice at www.vitas.com. 7520 W University Ave., Gainesville, FL 32607.
