Robert "Bob" Trotter's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Trotter, of Lake Butler, an amazing, humorous, gentle man with quality in his character, who was well-loved by so many, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the age of 71. He was born April 15, 1948 in Augusta, GA. to Olian P. and Corrie Ethelyn Boatwright Trotter.
Bob grew up in Columbia, SC. After moving to Florida, he umpired and coached little league baseball in Melbourne and Tallahassee for over 20 years. His love of books made him a veracious reader and he was always ready to watch a good movie. Bob loved Civil War and Confederate History, a collector of many things, especially sports memorabilia, and he had a great love for music. He was a member of The Pentecostals of Gainesville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Lynn Trotter; daughters, Dr. Kristyn Amanda “Mandy” Trotter, Jennifer Beck and Sherin Beck Martinez; grandchildren, Noah, Alonica, Talayah, Lynnae, Kaison and Vaughn and great grandchildren, Lily and Noah Elijah.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 24, 2019 from 6 PM to 8 PM at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd St. The Pentecostals of Gainesville, located at 8105 NW 23rd Ave., will host Bob’s Homegoing Service on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2 PM with viewing at 1 PM. Pastor Jimmy Toney will officiate. Pall bearers will be Noah Beck, Jay Hodge, Alex Martinez, John Morris, Robert Morris & Terry Jertberg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Battlefield Trust ~ www.battlefields.org or The Wounded Warrior Project.
