Mr. Robert (Bob) Dodge Harris Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Robert (Bob) Dodge Harris Sr, born on Aug 14, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa, to the late Edna Eklund and the late Mark Harris Sr, passed away at age 84 on July 23, 2018 in Gainesville, FL.
Bob graduated from Iowa State in 1959. He served in the Air Force in the Korean War and he also worked in the appliance industry as a mechanical engineer at GE & Speed Queen until he retired in 1995.
He enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed karaoke later in life. He was a member of 1st Lutheran Church, the Elks, and the Eagles. He was a Mason, an active Shriner and volunteered for the VA.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara Ann (Myers) Harris; his son, Craig Harris; brothers, James Harris and Mark Harris Jr; and sister, Betty Harris.
He is survived by his son, Robert Harris Jr (Brenda-wife); and grandchildren, Christopher Harris, (Great grandchildren James Robert and Madison), Katherine Harris, Robert Harris III, Craig Harris Jr, Mark Harris, and Michelle Harris.
Friends and family can pay their respects at the memorial service, Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at 1st Lutheran Church, 1801 NW 5th Ave, Gainesville, Florida, 32603. Those who wish, may donate in Robert's name to Christian Appalachian Project in lieu of flowers.
