Robert "Bob" Roy Halfacre's Obituary
Robert Roy “Bob” Halfacre went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25th, 2021.
Robert was born in 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, son of Madeleine Halfacre and Veedie Halfacre. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and was a safety engineer for the state of Michigan for several years. In 1959, he moved to Florida where he began working for Flowers Baking Company having reached District Sales Manager. In 1972, he moved to Gainesville, Florida where he began a 36 year career position with St. Johns Beverage Company. After retiring from St. Johns, he was a Consultant for Premier Beverage Company, Jacksonville, FL until August 2012, completing over 60 years of employment. These 60 years were spent forming and enjoying long-lasting friendships with a lot of people including many employees and leaders in the Publix Supermarket chain.
He was married to the love of his life, Melba, for 47 years. He was a wonderful, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a long time member of Westside Baptist Church of Gainesville where he served as usher chairman, Sunday School teacher, outreach and visitation director, deacon, mentor, prayer ministry and friend. Upon moving to St. Augustine, FL in 2010, he joined Crescent Beach Baptist Church, which he is currently a member. His love for Christ was evident in his prayer life, his compassion for others as he shared Christ with so many, his special love and kindness to his family, Bible study and love for others.
Bob was blessed with a great sense of humor having entertained many with his wit, humor and impressions of many actors/comedians. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
He is survived by his wife Melba, Sons: Steve Sanders, Kevin Halfacre (Sarah), and Kyle Halfacre (Cindy) ; Daughters Pamela Gregory, Lesli Tindell and Brenda Gregory (Stephen); Grandchildren: Jason, Kris, Tristan (Matt), Bryan (Nicole), Lauren (Allen), Leann, Ian, Holly, Dillon and Kasey; Great-Grandchildren, Breonna, Taylor, Camryn, Madison, Mason, Caleb, Carley and Easton. Several nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Donna Norton of Michigan.
The family will receive friends Friday January 29, 2021 from 5-6pm at Crescent Beach Baptist Church with a celebration of Bob’s life beginning at 6pm with Rev. David Beauchamp officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Crescent Beach Baptist Church Building Fund, 885 S.R. 206 East St. Augustine, FL 32086
