I met Richard about 26 yrs ago at Island Grove Baptist Church. We attended church there. He always had a smile on his face. And I know he would have liked his memorial service. If there is such a thing as a beautiful service, Richard got it. It was touching, humorous and above all joyous. I loved it. I thank the Lord that I knew Richard. He was certainly blessed to have you, Sherry. May God richly bless you for the fine care you gave to Richard. 💞
Although the last few years have been hard for you, I do remember a time when you played your guitar and worked diligently to get those IT certs and best of all, loved my mom and showered her with kisses and compliments. Thank you for accepting us all as your family. I wish we could’ve known each other more, but maybe we will in heaven someday. 🤗
The service was beautiful and I really enjoyed hearing from others about Richard's life. My favorite part was how the pastor spoke of Richard shining like the Christmas lights and how we saw that beautiful Christmas light display that same night. I'm grateful for the 18 years my mom was happy with Richard.
What a beautiful service we had for Richard. I think he would have been proud. I want to thank everyone who came and I want to thank Williams Thomas Funeral Home for the outstanding job they did. I want to thank Eden Baptist Church for all the love and support, food, music and hard work.
Richard I know you as Mark’s big brother. You always had a smile on your face and was always nice to me when I came over. I have really enjoyed the times that we spent together as family. You always said a comment or two to Mark just to have him going and enjoyed to see the expression on his face. Now you both have a chance to be alone together, have a great time in each other’s company until we meet up with you guys.
You both are greatly missed, but you are in Heaven a much better place to be, where sickness and sorrow cannot reach. May God Bless each one of us who mourn your’s as well as Mark‘s departure because it is our Lord who said; “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” May you both Rest In Peace and watch over us.
