Richard Earl Dougherty's Obituary
Richard Earl Dougherty, 79 of Orange Heights Florida died Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was the oldest of four children born to Earl and Elsie Dougherty. Richard is survived by his beloved wife and childhood sweetheart Sarah Dougherty of Waldo, FL, brother Ronnie Dougherty of Fernandina Beach, FL, sister Judy Davis of Orange Heights FL, son Brian Dougherty of Bella Vista, AR, daughter Kim Mortimer of Ellijay, GA and four grandchildren: Sarah Mortimer, Aaron Mortimer, Matthew Dougherty, and Kyle Dougherty. Richard retired as a Master Scientific Glassblower and emeritus professor from the University of Arkansas after 33 years of service. He served as the President of the Arkansas Credit Union for several years. He was a six year veteran of the Army National Guard. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Waldo Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Dubois conducting the services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund for Orange Heights Baptist Church 16700 NE State Road 26 Hawthorne, FL 32640.
