Rhoda Oransky's Obituary
Rhoda Oransky, age 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her home in Harbor Chase assisted living facility. She was surrounded by friends and family as well as the wonderful care of Haven Hospice and the wonderful staff of Harbor Chase.
Rhoda was born June 26, 1925 in Bronx, NY and she moved to Gainesville from Miami 20 years ago. Rhoda enjoyed her friends at the friendship circle group at temple B’nai Israel and at Harbor Chase. Rhoda was an excellent artist and enjoyed oil painting and spending time with her family.
Rhoda is survived by her brother, Paul Herschander of Boynton Beach, FL; three children, Robert Oransky (Fern), Gwen Barbakoff (Glen) and Michael Oransky (Karen); daughter-in-law, Cassie Oransky, as well as eight grandchildren; Jason Oransky, Lauren Kochman, Ross and Hilary Barbakoff, Andi, Brooke, Craig and Paige Oransky and great grandchild Liam Kochman. Preceded by son, Steven Oransky.
Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in B’nai Israel Cemetery at the corner of E. University Avenue and Waldo Road with Rabbi David Kaiman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90 Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606. Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street.
