Reda LaNinfa's Obituary
Reda LaNinfa, 83, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 1, surrounded by her family’s love.
She was born on November 1 in Gainesville to Elwell and Eliza Robinson and grew up in the town of Melrose. Throughout her life, she brought warmth, kindness, and strength to everyone who knew her.
Reda devoted her life to her family, who were her greatest joy. She is survived by her children, Terrie Brantley and husband Reed, Susan Olsen, Richard Logsdon Jr. and fiancée Kristie; her grandchildren, Kenneth Brantley, Christina Passon and husband Caleb, Jeff Anderton, Sarah Olsen, and Robert Olsen; and her sister, Suzie Dunk, along with her family, whom she deeply cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired US Air Force Major Tom LaNinfa, whose children also survive them both.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, loving heart, and the countless ways she gave of herself to others. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on through the family and friends whose lives she touched. Reda often said she sent her angels to watch over those she loved, and now her family trusts she continues to do so—with even greater grace.
Reda will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at Eliam Cemetery in Melrose, where she was instrumental in the installation of the Veterans’ Memorial—yet another testament to the compassion with which she honored others. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend and celebrate her life at Trinity United Methodist Chapel, 4000 NW 53rd Ave. Gainesville, on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to Hospice or Habitat for Humanity. Per Reda’s wishes, she hoped friends and family would honor her memory by sharing a meal with loved ones—enjoying good food, laughter, and remembering her with joy.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
