Rebecca Seawright's Obituary
Rebecca Seawright, age 81 of Gainesville passed away Friday, July 5, 2024. She was born October 27, 1942 in Ware Shoals, SC to J.B. and Julia Medlin.
Becky graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. Her life was dedicated to her family and teaching children. She worked for Alachua County Schools and retired as school registrar at Buchholz High School. Becky was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. During her life she taught Sunday school to countless children.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dr. Jack A. Seawright; son, David Seawright and his wife Marlene; daughter, Amy Seawright Hartman and her husband Timothy; brother, John Medlin; six grandchildren, Garianne, David, Henry, Jeb, Lauren, Jacob and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bennett Medlin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 3612 NW 177th Ave. Gainesville, with Pastor Daniel Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, July 12, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Downtown, 404 North Main Street.
