Raymond Russell Wright's Obituary
Raymond Russell Wright, 87, died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his home, following a long illness.
Russell was a Korean War veteran, and was awarded the Bronze Star, Unit Commendation UN Ribbon, Korean Services Medal and Good Conduct Ribbon. He was a graduate of the Police Academy in Gainesville, Florida and worked in law enforcement. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Rardon and by a step-son, Rodney Stanley. He was a Baptist and attended Parkview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dolly Wright; a son, Steve Wright of Glenwood, AR; a daughter, Diane Winfree, of Richmond, VA; sister, Claudette Wilmouth, of Keysville, VA; brother, Percy Wright, of Farmville, VA, step-daughter, Paula Linnis, of Ocala; Five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren also survive.
A celebration of Mr. Wright's life will be held privately at a later date.
