I just heard the news of Ranny's passing. He was a colleague of mine at the University of Central Florida and he was the quintessential Harvard man. He was so funny and a joy to be around. For a time, I took over his office when he retired. Now I will continue to look fondly at that office when I go down the hall, starting tomorrow. My condolences to his family and close friends.
Ranney was on my Master's Committee at West Georgia College. He did ask the toughest questions of my committee. He was also a great teacher. RIP
