Rafael Genaro Pena's Obituary
Rafael Genaro Pena, age 53 of Hawthorne, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his home. Rafael was born September 19, 1961 in Miami, Florida to Ralph and Carmen Perez Pena. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and worked as a correctional officer for Alachua Sheriff’s Office, where he retired after 15 years of service. Rafael loved attending Hawthorne High School football games. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Harrell Pena; mother, Carmen Pena of Miami, FL; son, Rafael “Raffi” Genaro Pena II and sister, Olivia Pena of Miami.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Grant Smith officiating.
